What is radiofrequency ablation?
Radiofrequency ablation is a procedure that uses heat created by radio wave energy to close varicose veins.

Once you get home, you should follow all post-procedure instructions carefully. This includes:
- Caring for the catheter insertion site
- Wearing bandages
- Elevating your legs
- Walking a few times a day
You should also avoid heavy exercise, lifting, air travel, and standing for long periods. Stay out of hot baths, saunas, and whirlpools as well.
